Looks: As you would expect from Taylor Made these are classy looking clubs,finished to a very high standard indeed.From above they remind me a great deal of older model Hogan and Ram wedges (classic lines and thin topline) and will appeal to low to mid handicap players the most.The 2 feel pockets at the back are not noticable at address and the clubhead looks very compact and powerful with a minimal amount of offset which is very desireable in a wedge (easier to hit cut up shots,punch shots and knockdowns into the wind.)The finish is chrome and some good wedge players may prefer the oil can finish found in the Fe2O3 version or Vokey oil can or the gunmetal Cleveland.

Performance:These wedges feel heavier in the hands than other wedges that are currently in vogue (Titleist vokey,Cleveland 900 series),but not quite as heavy as the superb Callaway forged.These are forged clubs so the feel off the clubhead is solid and quite soft.Trajectory is very strong and I got excellent distance (longer than Titleist ,Hogan and Callaway wedges).I was able to hit all the shots with this wedge (lobs,punches and knockdowns).Because of the heavy head it glided through thick rough with ease and was extremely good from sand (again the heavy head helped here).Touch shots around the green were more difficult and some players will prefer a lighter headed wedge (Snake Eyes,Cleveland BRZ).The feel pockets made this club v.forgiving on mishits also.

Value:Competitively priced at $99 for a top named brand,this club represents good value and resale value will be good,particulary as TaylorMade seem to change models about every 6 months

Verdict:This is an excellent wedge which will appeal to all standards of player,but will work best in the hands of good wedge players.High handicap golfers would be best advised to look for something more forgiving (eg.new Nike CPR range),but mid to low men will find these very tasty indeed.
